Notes Up and Down the Bunk Bed

Put commas in the greetings and closings of short notes.

Read the notes

Read about Ravi and Asha. Then read the three notes they wrote at bedtime.

Notes in the Basket

1Ravi and his little sister Asha share a bedroom. Ravi sleeps on the top bunk, and Asha sleeps on the bottom bunk. At bedtime they are supposed to be quiet, so they pass notes instead. A small basket hangs from a string. They drop a note in the basket and pull it up or let it down.

2Dear Asha,
Did you hear that owl outside? It sounds very close.
Your brother,
Ravi

3Dear Ravi,
I heard it too. Can you see it from your window?
Love,
Asha

4Dear Asha,
It is too dark to see it. Mom said it is time to sleep. We can look for the owl tomorrow.
Good night,
Ravi
