Two Parts of Brightwood
Families live in two parts of Brightwood. In Northview, high on a hill, winter mornings are often freezing and snowy. Children wear thick coats, hats, and mittens. They eat warm oatmeal. When snow covers the sidewalks, they play inside. In Southgate, down in the valley, winter is usually mild and rainy. Children wear raincoats and boots. They eat soup and jump over puddles. In summer, both neighborhoods can have hot, sunny days. Families wear cool clothes, eat watermelon, and play in shady parks.
